Founder/Director 

Rasha Shamat brings a unique blend of business acumen and intellectual property insight through Intellecta. With over two decades of international experience in business development and marketing and 15 years dedicated to the evolving world of intellectual property.  She has a unique ability to connect strategic growth with meaningful IP value.

Her international career spans diverse industries including software, publishing, and non-profits, and she has worked closely with startups and SMEs across fintech, cleantech, and consumer goods sectors. Rasha has also valuable legal experience working with a law firm in Dubai, UAE, supporting multinational and regional businesses with their IP and market expansion strategies in the Middle East and beyond.

In Canada, she further supported innovation as part of a national non-profit dedicated to assisting cleantech SMEs through a range of programs focused on education, funding, and the development of strong IP portfolios and commercial presence in the Canadian market.

Her approach is driven by authenticity, curiosity, and a commitment to fostering impactful connections. with a proven track record of building key stakeholder relationships, driving long-term value, and delivering results that exceed performance metrics.

Rasha is also a passionate advocate for IP education, having led numerous workshops to elevate awareness of IP as a driver of innovation and long-term value. With a thoughtful approach and the ability to translate technical concepts into real-world business impact, she builds relationships that are both meaningful and results-driven.

In addition, she is a graduate of all three levels of the Council of Canadian Innovator’s (CCI) Innovation Governance Program, equipping her with advanced tools to guide innovation-driven companies through the intersection of business, IP, and modern governance.
